This training course satisfies the course requirements for South Carolina residents to apply for their Concealed Weapon Permit. It covers topics such as:

Learn the core principles and fundamentals of the USCCA Defensive Shooting program through this handgun training course. It covers the basics of handgun safety, combat accuracy, the balance of speed and precision, presentation from the holster, emergency reloads, live fire drills, and more to maintain your defensive shooting skills. You can take this course in one session or three individual (3 hour) mini classes focusing on Defensive Shooting Concepts, Defensive Concealed Carry, and Defensive Home Protection are available.
This award-winning NRA program heightens public awareness of what can and should be done to stay safe. You can learn how to improve your personal safety strategies and use helpful techniques and tactics to avoid becoming a victim of crime.
The goal of this course is to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for owning and operating a handgun safely and responsibly. The class will include both classroom and range learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students will learn NRA's rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, types and construction of ammunition, shooting fundamentals such as stance, grip, trigger press, recoil management, sight alignment and sight picture, as well as how to disassemble and clean pistols, during the full day class.
It is designed for women who are brand new to gun handling and ladies who are ready to enhance their defensive shooting abilities, tools, and mindset. This four-hour course introduces students to the fundamentals of shooting and helps improve their weapon firing skills in a specialized range facility.
They will also learn about universal safety rules, situational awareness, common types of handguns, ammunition types, marksmanship skills, advanced firearms handling, defensive pistol fundamentals, and the use of deadly force.
Three Distinct Levels
The following course levels can be separated or used in combination:
- Women’s Basic Pistol
- Women’s Intermediate Pistol
- Women’s Defensive Pistol
In this simulation training class, you’ll be put in realistic situations that challenge your natural reaction to threats – AND allow your instructor to give you feedback in real time! This training benefits everyone, regardless of experience level, whether you’re working to sharpen a specific skill or just starting out on your self-defense journey.
This eight-hour training course is taught using the USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense curriculum, which includes learning in classroom and range instruction settings. The class will qualify the students who complete and pass the course to apply for permits used by their respective state agencies that oversee concealed handgun permit processing.
The course of instruction in this class is designed for persons who have been assigned by a range owner, operator, or manager to oversee range safety. Course content includes; ensuring the range is safe to use, conducting range safety briefings for shooters, handling ammunition and gun malfunctions safely, supervising safety aspects of shooting activities, and handling emergency procedures as established by range management.
You can’t predict a random attack, but you can prepare. This USCCA course includes an analysis of data gathered from the 48 mass shootings since Columbine in 1999 and what role – if any – gun free zones and background checks play in deterring violence in public, workplaces, and in houses of worship. You’ll also learn about the “Run, Hide, Fight” methodology and what you can do to stop or survive an active shooter situation.

Educating children on firearms isn’t something we should leave just to anyone. This class helps teach parents how to talk to their kids about firearms. Specifically designed for ALL age groups and helps make safety a family priority.
Sign up for the area’s only AR-15 course which is designed specifically for civilian use. The course focuses on teaching students how to effectively use an AR-15 for home and personal defense. Classroom and live-fire instruction are both included in this course, making it suitable for students of all experience levels. Learn to verify your zero, accessorize, maintain, and operate your firearm, identifying the importance of round trajectory and mechanical offset for close encounters, while engaging multiple targets.
This is a 6-hour class and students will need the following:
- AR-15, zeroed at 50 yards, (No AK’s, AR Pistols, or other Sporting Rifles)
- 300 Rounds of .223 or 5.56mm ammunition.
- Sling, (Two-Point preferred)
- At least 3, 30 round magazines.
- Mag pouches if you have them. If not, back pockets will work just fine.
- Appropriate Range Attire, (Long Pants, Thick Belt, Closed Toe Shoes, Brimmed Hat, Crew Neck Type Shirt, Rain Gear)
Ear and Eye Protection. - Water/ Hydrating Beverage
